In talking with a client this evening he inquired as to My likes and dislikes, I mentioned a fondness for all things sci fi and he asked for names… I gave the usual Robert Heinlein, Orson Scott Card, Issac Asimov, H.G. Wells, etc. I then mentioned a fondness for certain Sci Fi Tv shows other then the Trek genre ( which I love mind you but …) The new battle star Galactica, Stargate, Firefly, and a long time favorite Dr. Who. He had been almost subconciously acknowledging the answers when I mentioned the Dr.
He erupted in a dead on Dalek impersonation


” EXTERMINATE… WE ARE SUPERIOR BEINGS!”


then stopped in an almost nervous silence. I asked him what was wrong and he replied he was worried he had offended Me with his fervor.
Laughing I responded it was refreshing to hear from someone who was willing to admit to their own non lifestyle likes and hobbies and the fact he even knew of the Dr was a good thing to Me. He seemed sort of shocked by this and when I questioned him, he told Me that most of the other Mistresses he had talked to only discussed D/s and never anything remotely vanilla like hobbies or the like.

At that point I wondered once again that perhaps it sometimes is a bit of clarity to realize that the Mistress does not sit in Leather in her Dungeon all day dreaming up new torments for her toys.

That I do have a life outside of BDSM and can be as passionate about something as geeky as 40 year old British sci fi tv show or collecting bootlegs of My favorite band performing live ( The Grateful Dead, Phish and others) to the most wicked paddles and punishers this side of the Mississippi.

I enjoy the Lifestyle it does permeate most everything I do

but It is not ALL I do …
