You blogged again! We've had so much rain that most of our garden has been drowned. Many of the seeds and seedlings have either been washed up and away or the roots have rotted and molded to nothing. I like rain but I've had enough.

I was born and adopted in the state of Kansas, they have an open policy when it comes to adoption papers. In January of 2003 I got my pre adoption birth certificate. It had her name, I was also able to get some paper work on the whole process including that my father was in the military, 1969 was the year no guessing where he was probably headed.
His name though was not included.
I think that is her birth name she may have married since Nov 1969, so that makes it a bit harder.
Also I do not have a birth date just a name.

I had to chuckle to myself reading this entry. I've had many similar experiences rescuing turtles/tortoises from roads, streets, and highways. Like you, I learned from an elder, my great-grandfather, in my case. He never explained WHY it was important. It just seemed to be the right thing to do. I remember in one case, we actually found a turtle that had been struck, but was still alive. It had a 2 inch hole in the top of its shell. We took it home where my great-grandfather covered the hole with a large piece of sheet metal and some type of glue, and released it into his apple orchard. We found the turtle again some 3 years later, still traipsing around wearing his patch.

I haven't been here in awhile and am so sorry to hear about your woes. I wish I had brilliant words to say that would ease your mind but unfortunately I doubt I can do that.

I know the feeling of being wound so tight you fear you'll snap. It comes and goes for me, when anxiety takes over I retreat, become silent and internalize all my worries, no one usually knows I'm suffering at all. The blog helps me; it's a place to let it all out, vent and rant the way I seldom do in public.

My good thoughts are with you. I hope it all gets better soon.
